Significant Cognitive Disabilities

REACH MS began its SCD initiative with its 2016-2021 round of funding. The SCD initiative is in positive behavioral supports and interventions (PBIS) like past and current REACH MS initiatives. The goals of this initiative are to support the inclusion of students with SCD in the general education classrooms, increase the number of students with SCD who meet their behavioral goals, and decrease the number of students with SCD who need targeted behavioral supports. The first SCD cohort began in the 2016-2017 school year bringing three school districts on board. REACH MS will also provide severe disability regional training at no cost for interested school districts during the 2017-2018 school year. Limited requested SCD training and technical assistance will also be provided.
