Early Childhood State Leadership Team (SLT)
When REACH MS added early childhood as one of its initiatives under the PBIS focus in 2016, the Pyramid Model was chosen as the “method” of early childhood PBIS implementation. In 2017, Mississippi’s first state leadership team was convened. Since 2017, Mississippi has been the recipient of multiple technical assistance endeavors from the federally-funded National Center on Pyramid Model Innovations (NCPMI). Mississippi’s SLT meets bi-monthly and serves as a guide for statewide implementation of the Pyramid Model.
SLT Vision
The vision for the Mississippi SLT is to promote healthy social and emotional development for young children and their families, support teacher understanding and implementation of the pyramid model, and engage stakeholders in systematic change
SLT Mission
Provide comprehensive high quality inclusive early learning support that empowers the early education communities in facilitating development for all young children
